‘The Pulpster’ #32 (2023)

It’s full steam ahead for The Pulpster #32.

This year’s number celebrates several notable anniversaries in 2023. It’s been 100 years since Street & Smith Publications kicked off the sports-pulp genre with Sport Story Magazine and since Weird Tales was unleashed on the world.

And, who can forget the wave of hero pulps that burst upon the scene 90 years ago, in 1933?

We’ve got some terrific articles — by contributors such as Will Murray, Michelle Nolan, Tony Davis, Darrell Schweitzer, and others — lined up on each of those anniversaries.

And, Michael Chomko is back with the second installment of the history of Fiction House: The Home for Action. He started the story last year on the publishing company’s 100th anniversary. He’ll wrap it up in next year’s number.

In connection with ERBfest 2023, we’ll devote space to articles on Edgar Rice Burroughs’ works.

Plus, we’ll take a look at Alfred Hitchcock’s TV adaptation of a Cornell Woolrich story and consider several odes to the pulp magazines.

Of course, we’ll remember those in pulpdom whom we’ve lost in the past year in Final Chapters.

This action-packed number will be available in August at PulpFest 2023. It should be available for order on this website a bit after that.
